昨日、23日の夜９時からＮＨＫｂｓで映画を観た。２０１２年のイギリスのコメディ映画、「アンコール」（Song for Marion、米公開時英題：Unfinished Song）だ。ポップスやロックを歌う合唱団を舞台に、テレンス・スタンプとヴァネッサ・レッドグレイヴ演じる一組の老夫婦とその家族や仲間たちを描く物語だ。詳しくはここをクリックして下さい。

一組の老夫婦とその家族や仲間たちを描く物語だから我々向きではあるが、小生が特に気に入ったのはそこで使われた音楽だ。

１つは、セリーヌ・ディオンの"Unfinished Songs"。２つは、ビリー・ジョエル作曲の"Song For Marion"だ。

１つ目は、強烈なロックビートで、我々に元気を齎してくれるのがいい。これ聴いてると自然に体が動くのだ。２つ目のは、老夫婦の心情をスローテンポで歌うところがいい。

２つ目は、"Song for Marion"。

この曲は、映画のフィナーレで歌われるバラード曲だ。原曲は、ビリー・ジョエル("Billy Joel")作曲の"Lullabye(Goodnight My Angel)だ。

この映画では、"Song for Marion"という曲名になっている。その中の"Marion"は、この映画の主人公の老妻の名前である。歌は、歌い方や声がビリー・ジョエルそっくりだから、ビリー・ジョエルの吹き替えかと思ったが、映画の中で老夫を演じたテレンス・スタンプの地声のようである。根拠は、映画の終わりに出るクレジットタイトルに、"Performed by Terence Stamp" "Written by Billy Joel 1993" と書いてあることだ。だが、これが吹き替えではないことの明確な証明かどうかは不明である。
